Festival of Networking

One-to-One Meetings
Albourne will be coordinating two days of intensive meetings between funds and investors. Funds will enter the NETFEST system via a Founding Sponsor, with meetings taking place in that Sponsor’s marquee, front garden or back verandah. Investors will enter the NETFEST system via Albourne. If you are a fund and you wish to take part in NETFEST, and you are not currently associated with a Founding Sponsor, please contact us and we will make the appropriate introductions.

All meetings will take place in close proximity and will be scheduled 15 minutes apart, from 10am to noon and from 2pm to 5pm. All participants will be contactable via Spotme devices while at the venue. See NETFEST for explanation of the clearing system for meetings.

One-to-Many Meetings
Venues within Knebworth House will be allocated to Founding Sponsors so that they can host larger meetings for their guest funds. Please note that while all one-to-many venues are close, Knebworth House is a 10 minute walk from where the one-to-ones will be taking place. Albourne will not be organizing the attendance of one-to-many meetings.

NETFEST

The Mechanics
At the beginning of April, fund and investor attendees will be asked to score and veto the meetings they would like to participate in. These preferences will be recorded and kept in the strictest possible confidence.

Ben McQuillin, a game theory academic from the University of East Anglia, has devised the algorithm for assigning meetings, maximizing the utility for all involved. The paper outlining this will be posted on this website nearer the event. A large team of Albourne staff will operate NETFEST continuously throughout the two days. NETFEST is ambitious, but can radically enhance the benefit of attendance for all involved.

Spotme Technology
Spotme is a handheld device that enhances delegate networking. With its recognition and alert system, it helps make quality encounters happen fast and allows the Hedgestock team to contact all NETFEST participants at all times, anywhere on venue.

Spotme handheld device   Features:
  • Virtual business card exchange
  • Meeting alerts
  • Interactive voting for Grannies Awards
  • Agenda details in the palm of your hand
